Chenxian Optoelectronics launches glass-based Micro LED splicing screen

On February 7th, Chenxian Optoelectronics released on the official Weibo that Micro LED, one of Visionox's "one strong and two new" development strategies, has made a major breakthrough - Chenxian Optoelectronics successfully launched the first self-developed glass base in mainland China. Micro LED splicing screen, the splicing screen can be used for high-end TV, the size is 12.7 inches, and the 25μm LED chip is used for the first time.

This Micro LED display adopts 6 pieces of splicing, and the seam is less than 100μm. With the self-developed hybrid drive circuit architecture and high-speed mass transfer technology, Chenxian Optoelectronics successfully achieved a display effect of 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, 700nit brightness, 256 grayscale (8bit) color depth, and transferred 25μm LED chips in large quantities. Yield increased to 99.9%. With the continuous deepening of technology development, this achievement is expected to be widely used in large-scale video wall display products in the future.

On July 20, 2021, Chenxian Optoelectronics successfully lit up the first retina-level pixel density (326ppi) 1.84-inch Micro LED wearable product in mainland China, and in 2021, it successfully lit up 12 high-end TVs. .7-inch Micro LED splicing products, Visionox released 1.84-inch Micro LED wearable samples and splicable Micro LED single-screen samples for high-end TVs at the "Visionox Innovation Conference" on November 28.

At present, Chengdu Chenxian has built a Micro LED pilot test line, completed the process of opening up the whole process, and achieved the first 1.84-inch Micro LED wearable sample with a pixel density of 326PPI and a brightness of 1600nit in late July 2021. , to accelerate the improvement of the strategic layout in the new display industry.

The cost of new Samsung Micro LED models may be 40%

Recently, related news said that Samsung plans to reduce the cost of its new 89-inch and 101-inch models that will go into production in May by about 40%. And the 114-inch version will be launched at the end of the year, with a price positioning of nearly 100,000 US dollars (about 633,400 yuan), while the 89-inch price is nearly 80,000 US dollars (about 506,700 yuan).

All three sizes (89 inches, 101 inches and 114 inches) will also use low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) thin film transistors (TFTs). The use of LTPS TFT is designed to accomplish 4K (3840x2160) resolution, even at smaller screen sizes, as the technology allows control of a single circuit. It is reported that the transistor size is 12.7 inches and is provided by Samsung Display and AUO.

Previously at CES 2022, Samsung said that for the manufacture of Micro LEDs, Samsung can now transfer multiple chips at once, resulting in at least 1,500 times faster transfer speeds.
