Global mobile phone OLED panel heating: LGD can be flexibly put into production in advance 6th,Dec,2018

According to South Korea's ET News, Lejin Display is in the process of purchasing the flexible OLED equipment from the Gumi E5 production line. The target is mass production in the first half of 2017, and the equipment will be delivered in the first half of 2016. In the first half of 2016 and the first half of 2017, LG Display will invest in flexible OLED equipment for the Gumi E5 production line and the Paju production line. The Gumi plant has a monthly capacity of 7,500 pieces and the Paju factory has a monthly capacity of 15,000 pieces.

Global mobile phone OLED panel battle temperature: LGD advance flexible OLED equipment investment

Originally, Lejin Display faced problems in implementing flexible OLED equipment investment in 2016, because the core processing equipment organic evaporation equipment supplied by Japanese equipment factory Tokki has been heavily packaged by Samsung Display, making equipment supply inferior.

Recently, LG Display has requested Tokki to supply some equipment first, in response to the demand for Paju production line to start investment in 2017. As for the Gumi production line, Korean equipment will be used. The industry speculates that the E5 line will produce cars and smart phones. The flexible OLED panel, the Paju production line mainly produces mobile phone panels, plans to introduce 6 generations of equipment, the possibility of producing Apple (Apple) iPhone panels.

LG Display accelerates investment in flexible OLED devices to narrow the gap with Samsung monitors and open up distance from mainland panel manufacturers. Due to the large investment scale of Samsung display flexible OLED panel equipment, and the experience in the supply of mobile OLED panels, LG Display must accelerate the execution of the investment.

Although LG Display is the leader in the large-size OLED TV panel market and is the first-line supplier of Apple IPS LCD, if Apple switches to OLED panel, the first-line supplier status will be handed over to Samsung. The industry expects Lejin Display to sign a supply contract in the second half of 2016 after completing technical negotiations with Apple.
